The Barbara Ward Children's Foundation has recently had a double celebration with it’s 5th anniversary coinciding with the passing of the milestone of having made grants totalling more than £2million.
The charity was founded with a generous donation from Barbara Ward and, on 13th December 2001, was granted charity status by the Charity Commission for England and Wales.
In summary, the objectives of the Foundation are to carry out charitable purposes anywhere in the world, primarily in relation to children. Initially the foundation seeks to make grants to other charitable organisations with similar aims, in order to meet its goals.
The Foundation’s Chairman of Trustees is Barbara herself, with support from four further trustees Chris Banks, Brian Walters, Ken Parker and Alan Gardner.
